About Me

As I finish up my degree and start to look for a job teaching Family and Consumer Sciences, I reflect to all the wonderful things that have happened to get me to this place in my life. I have run a clothing company, Njira for 15 years both in a brick and mortar setting at out of my home. It wasn’t until 2009 when I returned to my alma mater to instruct costume design that I discovered I wanted to teach. The path of life took me in different directions: marriage, pregnancy, raising a child, time in Africa, coaching and continuing education. All were just lessons and experiences to prepare me to be an educator. It has taken me a while to get here but I am grateful for the journey.
